If you’re in the market for a business coach, finding the right one for you can be a challenge.

You want someone who sees your business as you do.

You want someone who will take your “baby” and help it grow up into the business you’ve envisioned.

So, how do you find this person?

As a business coach, I love getting to know who my clients are and provide them the business knowledge unique to them. But, I hear a lot of questions a client will go through to find and hire the right business coach.

I want to share with you the most important ones. These are questions I’ve asked other business coaches myself, and they’re questions clients have asked me.

Over the next two blogs, I’ll cover 20 questions you should ask before hiring a business coach.

Here are the first ten questions to ask your business coach before hiring them!

1. How many businesses do you own?

This may seem like an odd question. But, when you hire a professional, they need to be a professional. The more businesses they own, the more experience they have, the more expertise and honest evaluation they can give to you.

2. How many years of business experience do you have?

The best coaches will have a minimum of ten years. It takes a decade to truly understand how a business works, how to operate it, and how to make it continually profitable.

3. How many clients have you coached?

This is very telling and will give you an idea of how much success they have had and are continuing to have.

4. Do you employ people?

Employees are an essential part of the business. They should have employees!

5. Who were your coaches?

This is a fantastic way to learn even more about your business coach. By learning about their coaches, you’re getting a good look into their credibility.

6. Can I have a few former clients’ numbers to call?

Again, a great way to verify your potential coach’s credibility is by calling their clients directly.

7. Do you have client testimonials?

This is another valid reference for you to check out.

8. Can I have a phone number for emergencies?

If your coach truly cares about you the way they say they do, having their phone number for emergencies is a no-brainer.

9. Can I get help with other things outside of the coaching?

A business coach is a coaching individual who coaches all aspects of your life, yet is centered around elevating your business goals.

10. How big is your business? (Their team)

This is another great way to evaluate them and their success.

As you learn more about what to ask, you’ll find yourself figuring out who is best for your business. While it’s easy to feel insecure about finding the right business coach, these questions are designed to help you discover what you truly need in a coach.

Your business is your “baby” and you need to hire a business coach who knows how to take care of your baby. This list should make you think about who you want to add to your life to make it better. Because who you have around you speaks volumes about how successful you will be.
